Job summary

Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Complex Trauma Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) to join the Ascend Service in Cannock for 2 days a week.

You will assess patient suitability, deliver trauma-focused CBT, and provide clinical supervision to PWP teams. The role requires BABCP accreditation, 2+ years of trauma work, and willingness to work flexibly with some remote days.

Training in EMDR is desirable, and prior experience in secondary care mental health is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Trained to Post Graduate Diploma Level (e.g., CBT)
• Significant experience as a psychological therapy practitioner
• BABCP Accredited
• Experience in Primary Care treating anxiety and depression
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification CBT experience
• Experience in mental health services
• Experience working with victims/survivors of sexual assault and abuse

Responsibilities

• Assess referrals and determine suitability for the complex trauma pathway
• Formulate, implement and evaluate individual therapy programmes
• Attend inter-service meetings regarding referrals
• Liaise with health and social care staff across agencies
• Promote links with Trust services to coordinate Psychological Therapies
• Provide specialist advice to professionals and voluntary agencies
• Contribute to teaching and training of mental health staff
