Job summary

NexGen Cloud Ltd. is building large NVIDIA GPU clusters for AI workloads. We’re seeking an HPC Engineer to validate and tune clusters before handover and own the HPC layer in production. This UK-based remote role reports to the Head of Infrastructure.

You’ll collaborate with Deployment Solution Architects, Network Engineers and vendors to resolve issues quickly and feed production learnings back into design. Strong Linux, Slurm and InfiniBand experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience operating NVIDIA GPU infrastructure at scale and diagnosing GPU hardware faults.
• Proven experience running production HPC clusters with a workload manager such as Slurm.
• Strong InfiniBand experience including subnet management and RDMA.
• Experience benchmarking and tuning distributed workloads (NCCL tests, HPL).
• Strong Linux systems administration, networking, storage, and infra automation.

Responsibilities

• Own cluster performance from acceptance to production, run burn-in and benchmarks.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, Network Engineers, Validation and Support to resolve issues.
• Manage production HPC layer: Slurm, GPU drivers, CUDA stack, InfiniBand fabrics, storage clusters.
• Tune clusters for AI training and HPC workloads, with topology-aware scheduling.
• Build monitoring to catch faults and lead incident response from root cause to resolution.
• Automate provisioning and validation with IaC and Git-based workflows.
• Turn incident learnings into automated checks and runbooks.
