Job summary

Holt Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Heavy Plant Engineer to cover Essex and surrounding areas. The role operates remotely at customer sites, delivering on-site service, fault diagnosis, and maintenance of plant machinery.

You will diagnose hydraulics, diesel engines, and electrical systems, perform breakdowns, and maintain service records. A full UK driving licence is required, with 3+ years in field service and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required.
• 3+ years as Field Service or Mobile Plant Engineer.
• Strong hydraulics, diesel engines, and diagnostics knowledge.
• Ability to work independently on customer sites and manage expectations.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and repair a wide range of construction and plant equipment.
• Diagnose faults across hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Perform breakdown and planned maintenance at customer sites.
• Create digital service reports using diagnostic tools.
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
