Job summary

Canonical is seeking a Global Payroll Manager to design scalable payroll systems in a high-growth technology environment. You will lead multi-country payroll operations, automate processes, ensure compliance, and partner with HR and finance to raise accuracy and efficiency.

The role reports to the Global Financial Controller, requires leadership and clear stakeholder communication. Home-based in EMEA with the London office option, and the ability to travel internationally as needed.

Qualifications

• Significant payroll experience supporting multi-country/global payroll operations.
• Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, taxation, and internal controls.
• Leadership and mentorship with ability to travel internationally.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with HR, Accounting, and external payroll providers to support payroll operations and compliance.
• Manage end-to-end payroll operations across different countries, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
• Review, validate, and approve payrolls prior to final processing.
• Establish payroll controls to ensure data accuracy, compliance and efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance payroll accuracy and scalability.
