Canonical is seeking a Global Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations across multiple countries, with a home-based EMEA focus and optional London base. You will drive automation, accuracy, and efficiency while aligning with regulatory requirements and internal controls.

The ideal candidate will have multi-country payroll experience, strong tax/compliance knowledge, and proven leadership to mentor a global team.

Qualifications

• This role requires significant payroll experience supporting multi-country/global payroll operations.
• Strong knowledge of payroll compliance, taxation, and internal controls.
• Experience managing payroll audits and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with payroll systems and HRIS platforms.
• Excellent written and spoken English with strong presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with HR, Accounting, and external payroll providers to support payroll operations and compliance.
• Manage end-to-end payroll operations across countries ensuring accurate and timely processing.
• Review, validate, and approve payrolls prior to final processing.
• Establish and maintain payroll controls for data accuracy and compliance.
• Perform payroll/salary cost analyses and explain variances.
• Monitor regulatory changes impacting payroll processes and reporting.
• Lead, mentor and coach a team of global payroll professionals.
