Job summary

LaraBench is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join a hybrid role in the UK. You will develop high-quality software for public health projects, using PHP/Laravel on the backend and React on the frontend, with involvement across APIs, databases, and deployment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the product development lifecycle.
• Experience with PHP including Laravel.
• Experience with frontend frameworks/libraries (React).
• Experience with GitLab.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, etc).
• Experience with Message Queues (RabbitMQ) & event-driven architecture.
• Strong knowledge of OO design patterns.
• Experience with unit test frameworks and test automation.
• Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) preferred.
• Healthcare industry experience (NHS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-performance, scalable applications and services.
• Develop APIs and other web services.
• Work with databases (relational and NoSQL) to implement data models.
• Contribute towards all phases of the software development lifecycle, from design to deployment and monitoring.
• Coach and guide other team members.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Promote software engineering best practices and stay updated with industry trends.
• Participate in architectural and design discussions.
• Ensure security, performance, scalability, and reliability of components.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and stakeholders.
• Write unit tests and integration tests to ensure code quality.
