Job summary

Docker is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead two security-focused teams within a remote-first, globally distributed organization. You will own delivery, health, and growth across Secure Build and SCS Services, balancing roadmaps and coordinating with Product and security leads.

You will stay close to technical work, guide architectural decisions, and mentor engineers while ensuring successful outcomes across UK and US working hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years managing high-performing engineering teams across multiple domains.
• 8+ years hands-on software engineering experience in backend, infrastructure or tooling.
• Strong leadership and remote-first collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Secure Build and SCS Services, overseeing delivery, team health and growth across both teams.
• Turn two roadmaps into a coherent portfolio with priorities, capacity and trade-offs.
• Partner with Product to shape strategy for secure build, Docker Scout and Hardened Images.
• Stay close to design and code reviews, incidents and selective hands-on work.
• Define interfaces between teams, including contracts, data quality and ownership.
• Balance new product work with on-call and reliability improvements.
• Grow engineers and manage performance with transparent feedback.
• Align Product, Design, Security and partners while shielding teams from churn.
