Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an Intermediate Fire Engineer for a fully remote permanent role in the UK. You will develop fire strategies, design protection systems, and advise clients on compliance with UK standards, while contributing to BIM models in Revit.

We expect 2–5 years in consultancy, familiarity with BS 9999/BS 7974/B approved docs, and experience with fire suppression systems. Remote role with strong career progression and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Fire Engineering or related field required.
• 2–5 years in fire engineering consultancy or similar.
• Strong knowledge of BS 9999/BS 7974/Approved Document B.
• Familiarity with fire suppression systems and software tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire engineering strategies per relevant standards.
• Design and assess sprinkler, water mist, and gaseous systems.
• Conduct fire risk assessments and advise clients.
• Support CFD modelling and fire simulations as needed.
• Produce BIM designs in Revit for coordination.
• Communicate with clients, architects, and authorities.
• Prepare technical reports and evacuation strategies.
• Assist senior engineers and mentor juniors.
