Job summary

Richardson RFPD, part of Arrow Electronics, is seeking a Field Sales Representative to drive growth across the UK and Ireland. The role is remote-based with regular customer visits, focusing on developing business, creating demand and growing revenue in energy and power markets.

You will work with engineers, supplier teams and internal commercial teams to understand customer needs, discuss technical topics, and propose electronic component solutions.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in technical sales, field sales, account management, business development, or a similar commercial role within electronics, technology, distribution, or a related industry.
• Good understanding of electronic components and ability to discuss technical topics with customers, engineers and suppliers.
• Experience or interest in semiconductors, power technologies, passive components, connectors, cables or other electronic component solutions is a plus.
• Commercial awareness, target-driven mindset, and ability to identify customer needs, business potential and revenue opportunities.
• Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
• Self-sufficient, proactive and capable of managing your own customer base in a field-based environment.
• Nice to have: educational background in electronics or electrical engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develop and grow business across the UK and Ireland by identifying new customer opportunities, creating demand, and supporting the full sales cycle from opportunity identification to closing deals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, engineers, buyers and internal stakeholders as a trusted commercial contact.
• Collaborate with engineers and supplier teams to understand customer requirements and propose suitable solutions.
• Manage and develop existing customer base while identifying new accounts and market opportunities across sectors like industrial, aerospace/defence, energy and power.
• Assist with opportunity qualification, deal shaping, negotiation and preparation of commercial proposals with internal teams and suppliers.
• Travel regularly across the UK and Ireland to meet customers and support business needs.
