Job summary

Experis UK seeks a Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer to design and deliver cloud-based data platforms. You will build end-to-end data pipelines, Lakehouses, and semantic models to empower analytics and reporting with Power BI.

This remote UK role involves collaborating with analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to transform raw data into trusted, actionable insights. You will optimise data structures, implement governance and security, and uphold best practices across the platform while

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience building Fabric Pipelines, Lakehouses, Warehouses, Notebooks.
• Advanced SQL skills and data modelling expertise.
• Python for automation and data transformation.
• Experience integrating data from APIs, databases, cloud apps.
• Power BI with semantic modelling and performance optimisation.
• Azure-based data platforms experience.
• Strong stakeholder engagement.
• Desirable: Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of CI/CD and Git.
• Purview or governance tools exposure.
• Experience in energy, utilities, retail, financial services.
• Microsoft Certifications such as: DP-700, DP-600, PL-300.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Microsoft Fabric solutions.
• Build and optimise Fabric Pipelines, Dataflows, Notebooks, Lakehouses, Warehouses.
• Implement data engineering standards across the platform.
• Develop data ingestion pipelines from APIs, databases, files, and third parties.
• Automate data processing workflows to improve efficiency.
• Create transformation frameworks using Python, SQL, and Fabric notebooks.
• Design scalable data models to support reporting and analytics.
• Enable Power BI reporting with semantic models and optimised datasets.
• Support governance, data quality controls, and metadata lineage.
• Collaborate with analysts, BI developers, and business stakeholders.
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Recommend improvements to data processes and architecture.
