Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Mechanical Development Engineer for a cutting-edge EV technology company. You will design, test, and refine mechanical systems for next-generation EV platforms, including battery enclosures, thermal management, and chassis components, all from a fully remote setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in mechanical design and development, with EV/auto components.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (CATIA, SolidWorks, NX) and PDM/PLM systems.
• Strong experience with FEA and CFD and data-driven design validation.
• Understanding of EV architectures, battery systems, and thermal management.
• Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes (stamping, casting, injection molding).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and sub-systems for electric vehicles, focusing on battery systems, thermal management, driveline components, and structural integrity.
• Use CAD software for 3D modeling and create detailed drawings and specifications.
• Conduct FEA and CFD simulations and analyze results.
• Specify and source mechanical components with supply chain and manufacturing teams.
• Develop and execute testing plans for prototypes and production parts.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, software developers, and materials scientists in a remote setting.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues during testing or validation.
• Stay updated on EV technology trends and safety, performance, and durability standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes.
