Remote ESL Teacher – Cosmo 1:1

Location: Cosmo, Greater London, England, United Kingdom (remote position). The instructor will teach ESL students based in Singapore and Hong Kong using the Cosmo curriculum.

Team: Cosmo 1:1 (formerly ClassUp) is an online learning platform connecting K‑12 students across the US, Canada, and Asia with tutors from top universities and colleges for personalized lessons. As a tutor you will have a flexible and consistent schedule that you set.

Job summary

You will deliver 50‑minute, one‑on‑one lessons, building a welcoming and fun learning environment while helping students grow. Consistency, reliability, and a passionate, kind demeanor are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized 1‑on‑1 instruction to ESL students
• Prepare appropriate lesson materials for the student's age and ability
• Submit class feedback after each lesson
• Communicate with parents and students in a professional manner
• Attend all classes on time and in a professional setting
• Communicate with Cosmo staff regarding scheduling and performance
• Update your availability in the Cosmo App in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Minimum 3 years of experience teaching grades K‑12 in ELA
• Experience with K‑12 ELA standards and curriculum
• Experience teaching ESL learners
• Teaching qualification preferred but not required
• Fast and reliable internet connection
• Access to a Windows or Mac PC with a minimum CPU of 6000
• Current UK residence
• Commitment to a minimum of 6 months with Cosmo 1:1
• Availability 8 – 2 PM GMT from Monday to Friday or 5 AM – 2 PM GMT on weekends, with a minimum of 20 hours of weekly availability
• Access to a private, quiet location for online teaching
• Passion for helping students learn and strong interpersonal skills (approachable, patient, adaptive, considerate, enthusiastic, reliable)

Pay & benefits

Pay rate: $20 USD per class plus additional incentives.
