Remote ESL Teacher – Cosmo 1:1

Join Cosmo 1:1 (formerly ClassUp), a premier online‑learning platform that connects K‑12 students in the US, Canada, and across Asia with tutors from top universities and colleges for personalized lessons. As a tutor, you will teach ESL students based in Singapore and Hong Kong, using the Cosmo curriculum. The position is remote, with a flexible schedule you set.

The pay rate is $20 USD per class plus additional incentives.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized 1‑on‑1 instruction for your students
• Update your availability in the Cosmo App in a timely manner
• Prepare appropriate lesson materials for the student's age and ability
• Submit class feedback after each lesson
• Communicate with parents and students in a professional manner
• Attend all classes on time and in a professional setting
• Communicate with Cosmo staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 3 years of experience teaching grades K‑12 in ELA
• Experience with K‑12 ELA standards and curriculum
• Experience teaching ESL learners
• Teaching qualification preferred but not required
• Fast and reliable internet connection and access to a Windows or Mac PC with a minimum CPU of 6000
• Able to commit to a minimum of 6 months of teaching with Cosmo 1:1
• Available between 8 - 2 PM GMT on Monday‑Friday or 5 AM‑2 PM GMT on weekends
• Minimum of 20 hours of availability on a weekly basis
• Access to a private and quiet location
• Passion for helping students learn
• Currently located in the UK
• Approachable: able to build rapport and make students feel comfortable in an online classroom environment
• Patient: takes the time and effort to ensure students understand complex subjects at their own pace
• Adaptive: tailors the lesson and environment to each individual student’s needs and learning capabilities
