Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear, part of Babcock International, is seeking an Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineering Lead to drive delivery across UK modular reactor and nuclear sectors. This full-time role is remote with occasional travel to the North‑West of England, 37 hours per week, and a focus on safety, quality and technical leadership.

You will lead electrical, control and instrumentation teams, ensuring robust design and compliance while developing your career in a dynamic defence,

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
• Experience leading engineering teams to deliver analysis and technical outputs across complex projects.
• Experience with engineering assurance, quality standards and regulatory compliance.
• Effective communication with stakeholders across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi‑disciplinary engineering teams to deliver complex projects on time and to scope.
• Oversee electrical, control and instrumentation engineering assurance, ensuring quality, compliance and technical excellence.
• Review and approve technical outputs such as calculations, specifications and reports.
• Build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders to support delivery and future growth.
• Promote collaboration, safety and best practice across engineering teams.
