Job summary

Abbott in Abingdon, United Kingdom is seeking a Collecting Officer to join our regional team. You will collect samples at customer locations, following our validated procedures for urine, breath, hair, and oral fluid, while maintaining chain-of-custody and readiness for 24-hour on-call rota.

Responsibilities include attending collections day/evenings/weekends, arriving on site within 2 hours when called, and staying competent through audits. Driving licence and flexible approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Educated to National Standards.
• Good verbal, written and communication skills.
• IT literate and basic skill in Word, Excel & Outlook.
• A self-motivated individual with a flexible approach to work.
• Ability to follow set processes to ensure the right outcome.
• Driving licence + own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Conduct specimen collections competently following collection procedures and customer requirements and instructions in order to deliver a quality specimen collection service at customer locations.
• Provide availability to attend collections during the day, evenings, weekends and public holidays in line with business needs.
• Participate where there is a business need in a 24-hour on-call rota on an equal basis with the rest of the team and respond to calls immediately and arrive on site within 2 hours.
• Remain current with process by reading and acknowledging and attending audits at the required time to remain competent.
• Any other reasonable duties as directed by the management of the business.
