Avon and Somerset Police is seeking a Disclosure Officer to perform DBS enhanced vetting checks for individuals working with children and/or vulnerable adults. The role involves risk assessments, researching information, and producing detailed reports to guide safe recruitment decisions.

The position is hybrid, with majority home-based work and required attendance at Kenneth Steele House, Bristol as needed. 5-year checkable UK history is expected, with interviews at Kenneth Steele House.

Qualifications

• Experience in researching information and writing detailed reports.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word.
• Ability to solve problems and make sound decisions.
• Knowledge of data protection and handling confidential information; DBS process knowledge is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Receive researched applications and conduct risk assessments in line with regulations.
• Prepare and compile written reports, and make recommendations on disclosure level.
• Provide guidance on DBS process and handling sensitive information.
• Conduct enhanced research on complex applications.
• Ensure information is gathered and analyzed for risk assessment.
