Job summary

Experis is building a brand-new internal contract hub and seeks a data engineer for a short-term project. The role involves extracting, profiling, cleansing, de-duplicating, and migrating data from multiple systems into a new internal repository, with strong emphasis on traceability and auditable migration.

You will coordinate source inventories, implement mapping rules, and deliver a documented data quality process for the migration, working remotely within the UK on a 30-day engagement.

Qualifications

• Strong data extraction and scripting skills with SQL and Python.
• Experience with profiling, cleansing, de-duplication, and mapping metadata across diverse sources.
• Ability to reconcile structured and unstructured data from multiple systems into a clean dataset.
• Methodical, detail-oriented approach prioritising accuracy, traceability, and repeatability.

Responsibilities

• Lead a time-boxed data migration project to extract, profile, clean, de-duplicate, and migrate contracts into a new repository.
• Inventory every source system, document counts, assess data quality and access routes.
• Write and run scripts to pull documents and metadata in bulk from multiple systems.
• Consolidate source data into a single staging dataset and apply rules for duplicates.
• Build and populate a metadata register, flagging gaps rather than inferring blanks.
• Run a sample migration to test mapping logic before scaling.
• Execute full bulk migration into the new repository structure with agreed schema.
• Produce documentation and handover notes on migrated data, anomalies, and scripts.
