Causal is building a data-driven platform for live data work. We are hiring a Backend Engineer - Data to scale our data infrastructure, connect to client data sources, and ensure reliable pipelines across systems.

You will collaborate with customers and our customer success team to implement pipelines from various data sources, and help design scalable data architectures using TypeScript and backend technologies.

Qualifications

• Solid proficiency in TypeScript.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with MongoDB and/or PostgreSQL.
• 4+ years of experience (excluding contracting) including customer-facing work or similar.
• Experience with Node, Go, or Python (a plus).
• Experience with data architecture and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build a unified system to manage all data pipelines (including health checks and alerting).
• Collaborate with clients and customer success to gather requirements and implement pipelines from various data sources.
