Job summary

Hitachi Energy UK Limited is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer to help protect critical HVDC and Power Quality assets across customer sites and service environments. This role involves designing, implementing and maintaining secure OT networks, and collaborating with customers and engineering teams to assess and mitigate security risks.

You will take ownership of security initiatives, stay ahead of evolving threats, and contribute to a sustainable energy future within a global technology leader.

Qualifications

• Experience in cyber security, networking, systems administration or related technical discipline.
• Strong knowledge of network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls and secure communications technologies.
• Experience with Windows Server environments and Active Directory.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within networked environments.
• Degree or certifications in cyber security or IT would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver cyber security services across HVDC and Power Quality installations, ensuring systems remain secure, available and compliant.
• Work with customers, project teams and service engineers to ensure cyber security requirements are understood and delivered.
• Design, implement and maintain secure network architectures, including firewalls, switches, routers and supporting infrastructure.
• Participate in cyber security assessments, vulnerability reviews and risk mitigation activities.
• Troubleshoot complex cyber security and networking issues, providing technical guidance to customers and stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain cyber security documentation, procedures, and technical standards.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers on cyber security risks and best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement across tools, processes and service offerings.
