Job summary

ACAS is seeking a Conversation Designer for a 4-month remote contract to develop AI-powered conversational experiences on the ACAS website. You will design flows, map journeys, and create artefacts in collaboration with researchers and product teams.

You will validate decisions with user insights, ensure accessibility, and help deliver guardrails aligned with organisational objectives. This role supports a high-profile AI initiative from discovery to delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing end-to-end conversational experiences for chatbots or virtual assistants.
• Strong understanding of generative AI and large language models.
• Experience working in agile, multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
• Excellent written communication using plain English.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end conversational experiences for AI-powered services.
• Create detailed conversation flows, dialogue structures, and recovery paths.
• Develop and maintain design artefacts: journeys, flow diagrams, wireframes, prototypes.
• Collaborate with researchers and subject matter experts to validate designs.
