Job summary

Devon Council is seeking an enthusiastic Community Occupational Therapist to join a well‑structured, dynamic team in Devon. This full‑time contract offers the opportunity to work from home, with a fair caseload and additional training opportunities.

The role includes assessments of service users in home environments, expert advice on equipment and home modifications, and moving and handling assessments to minimise care needs. 3–6 month initial contract with extension potential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Community Occupational Therapist.
• Manual handling experience.
• HCPC Registration.
• Enhanced DBS/CRB available on request.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
• Occupational Therapist Qualification.

Responsibilities

• Assessment of service users and carers with complex needs in relation to home environment.
• Providing expert advice and assessments for equipment and home modifications.
• Adaptations, moving and handling assessments and reducing or minimising care packages.
• Awareness of safeguarding vulnerable people and maintaining dignity and respect.
