Job summary

Biffa is seeking a Commercial Manager to drive growth across the South with remote working and occasional national travel. You will retain, develop and win key accounts in the Landfill division, delivering excellent customer service and building a robust pipeline across private and public sectors.

Collaborate with the Commercial Team to implement innovative strategies, contribute to budgeting, and support service improvements nationally while complying with industry regulations.

Qualifications

• Degree level or equivalent in Environmental, Sales, Marketing, Commercial Management or similar.
• Sales, project management, customer account management, technical management or similar.
• Achieving clearly defined service level agreements and KPI's including customer service and financial delivery.
• Knowledge of the UK waste management sector.
• Ability to travel throughout the UK.
• You will be expected to spend occasional nights away.

Responsibilities

• Actively seek new leads to grow the customer base and secure new key accounts to build a pipeline for the Division.
• Actively manage and develop existing customers to maximise value and profitability for the Division.
• Develop and implement commercial and marketing strategies with the Commercial Team to retain and attract customers.
• Provide high level customer service by resolving contractual and commercial escalations to retain customers.
• Work with Site Managers and the Divisional Senior Leadership Team to explore/new services or improve services for efficiency.
• Carry out other reasonable tasks as required and support regulator compliance understanding (Environment Agency, HMRC).
