Job summary

Service Care Solutions are recruiting a Commercial Contracts Lawyer to support a Cheshire-based authority. The role is fully remote with a 5-month rolling contract and a full-time pattern. The hourly rate ranges from £60 to £65 umbrella (DOE). PAYE options are available.

You will draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, provide pragmatic legal advice to council departments and help manage procurement and contractual risk across the authority.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or CILEX Lawyer with experience in commercial contracts.
• Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts.
• Desirable: experience in local government/public sector procurement and understanding of the legal framework.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied commercial contracts caseload from instruction to completion.
• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on commercial agreements and related documentation.
• Provide pragmatic legal advice on contractual risks, obligations and liabilities to council departments and stakeholders.
• Advise on complex contractual terms including indemnities, warranties, liability limits and termination provisions.
• Maintain records and progress matters to meet deadlines.
