Job summary

Service Care Solutions is recruiting a Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join a Cheshire local authority’s legal team. The role is fully remote, with a 5-month rolling contract and a full-time pattern.

You will draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, providing specialist legal advice to internal departments and senior stakeholders. The successful candidate will manage a varied workload, resolve contractual issues, and maintain robust records.

Qualifications

• Must have strong background in commercial contracts and experience in advising on complex agreements.
• Ability to manage a varied caseload of commercial contracts for a local authority.
• Proven skill in drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied commercial contracts caseload from instruction to completion.

• Provide clear, practical legal advice to council departments and senior stakeholders on risks, obligations and liabilities.
• Advise on indemnities, warranties, limitations of liability, termination and dispute resolution clauses.
• Guide on contractual disputes and assist with interpretations and performance issues.
• Maintain accurate records and manage deadlines to ensure timely progress.
• Operate in a fully remote role with flexible working.

Service Care Solutions are currently working in partnership with a local authority in Cheshire to recruit an experienced Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join their legal team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably experienced legal professional with a strong background in Commercial contracts to support a local authority with a varied and complex workload. The successful candidate will provide specialist legal advice, draft and negotiate commercial agreements, and work closely with internal departments to ensure contractual arrangements are legally robust and protect the authority's interests.

Working Pattern: Full-time

Responsibilities of the Commercial Contracts Lawyer:

• Manage a varied commercial contracts caseload from initial instruction through to completion.
• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on a wide range of commercial agreements, contracts and associated legal documentation.
• Provide clear, practical legal advice to council departments and senior stakeholders on contractual risks, obligations and liabilities.
• Advise on complex contractual terms, including indemnities, warranties, limitations of liability, termination provisions and dispute resolution clauses.
• Provide guidance on contractual disputes and assist with resolving issues arising from the interpretation or performance of agreements.
• Maintain accurate records, manage competing deadlines and ensure all matters progress efficiently.
