Job summary

The Rugby Football Union (RFU) is seeking a Club Developer to join the Clubs & Communities team on a permanent basis. The role is homebased covering the Cumbria & Northumberland region, full-time (35 hours per week) with frequent regional travel.

You will support rugby clubs to operate sustainably, build strong relationships, diversify revenues, grow volunteer bases and enhance facilities, while championing inclusion and RFU values.

Qualifications

• Strong project management skills with ability to handle several projects simultaneously.
• Comprehensive understanding of best practice and trends in sports development.
• Proactive self-starter with ability to manage competing priorities.
• Ability to work independently with high autonomy.
• Proven time management and prioritisation skills.
• Effective interpersonal and relationship management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Connect clubs seeking development with other clubs to share strengths and opportunities.
• Utilise RFU specialist support and virtual connectivity for clubs.
• Support clubs in improving management and volunteer structures with a focus on diversity.
• Assist clubs in revenue diversification and facility improvement opportunities.
• Support clubs in developing creative solutions to increase playing membership, including youth.
• Coordinate core projects to engage new audiences, with a focus on recruiting women and girls into rugby clubs.
• Develop local clusters to share knowledge and develop creative solutions to common challenges.
• Promote RFU assets and build relationships with educational establishments, community organisations and Local Authorities.
