Job summary

BBC is seeking Software Engineers for Project Playback to design, build, test and support a cloud-native AWS playout platform. You will work within a cross-functional team combining software engineering, cloud infrastructure and automation to deliver a scalable, highly available service.

The role focuses on deploying AWS infrastructure with CDK, developing in TypeScript, and building an resilient platform while supporting ongoing operations in a live environment.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and supporting cloud-native applications and services on AWS.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, including AWS CodeBuild and related tooling.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript.
• Experience using AWS CDK to define and deploy infrastructure as code.
• Experience troubleshooting, monitoring, and supporting production systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high quality software applications and services.
• Deploy, automate and support third-party software solutions within AWS environments.
• Build out CI/CD Infrastructure, monitoring and alarming.
• Contribute to system design discussions and technical decisions including system resilience, performance, scalability, security and reliability.
• Work closely with project managers, systems engineers, architects, testers and operational users to deliver features end-to-end.
• Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code following best practices and participate in code reviews.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and production issues.
