Job summary

University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a Clinical Coding Audit Manager to lead audit and validation across the Trust. You will drive the internal audit programme, engage clinical colleagues, and ensure alignment with national standards.

You will oversee audit activities, mentor trainee auditors, and work with the leadership team to improve coding quality and data integrity in a high-demand NHS environment.

Qualifications

• NCCQ Accredited Clinical Coder with audit/report writing expertise.
• Experience auditing NHS coding and knowledge of ICD10/OPCS4.
• First degree in a healthcare subject; postgraduate management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the organisation and delivery of departmental audit and data validation programmes, providing clear feedback to colleagues.
• Provide expert insight on potential financial impacts of coding decisions.
• Challenge existing practices and drive progressive solutions in line with best practice models.
• Collaborate with the Clinical Coding leadership team to support department efficiency.
