The Oyster Partnership is recruiting a Locum Childcare Solicitor for a fully remote position within a large, supportive childcare legal team. The role involves handling a varied caseload for a Local Authority, progressing care proceedings independently from inception to conclusion, and providing strategic legal advice across Children’s Services.

The position is an initial 3-month contract, with a strong likelihood of rolling extensions and immediate interview availability for an ASAP start.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX Lawyer.
  • Significant experience handling Childcare Law matters for a Local Authority.
  • Experience managing a caseload of care proceedings independently.
  • Strong knowledge of public childcare law and court processes.
  • Ability to work proactively and effectively within a remote environment.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a busy caseload of Childcare matters with minimal supervision.
  • Progressing care proceedings independently from inception through to conclusion.
  • Preparing legal documentation and advising on case strategy throughout proceedings.
  • Providing proactive and reliable legal support to Children's Services.
  • Attending meetings and providing legal advice where required.
  • Supporting the wider Childcare team with ongoing casework demands.
  • Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for service users.

Locum Childcare Solicitor - Fully Remote Opportunity

Initial 3-Month Contract (strong likelihood of long-term rolling extensions)

£60 per hour

Fully Remote Working (candidates must be based within the EU during working hours)

37 Hours Per Week (compressed hours may be considered)
