Job summary

Conrad Consulting Ltd is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join its Surveying Services division. The role combines inspections, damage assessments, cost estimates and management of repair works across domestic and commercial properties.

You will work from home with travel to sites, producing technical reports and offering expert surveying advice within the insurance claims process. MRICS/MCIOB are welcomed but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Experience as Building Surveyor within insurance, claims management or loss adjusting.
• Experience surveying both domestic and commercial properties.
• Strong understanding of building construction, materials, defects and repair techniques.
• Experience preparing technical reports, repair specifications and cost estimates.
• Knowledge of contract administration, tendering and managing repair works; excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out on-site surveys and inspections to assess damage and identify causes.
• Evaluate damage extent and prepare repair cost estimates and budgets.
• Produce detailed technical reports with findings and recommendations.
• Prepare specifications, schedules of work and tender documentation; assist with tender analysis.
• Undertake pre- and post-contract duties for repair projects.
• Work with loss adjusters and claims handlers to provide technical advice during claims process.
• Investigate circumstances of damage and recommend repair solutions.
• Review repair invoices and negotiate settlements where required.
• Assist with reduction schedules and disputed repair costs.
