Job summary

Educators is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for the Visual Impairment Service on a 30-hour per week basis during term time. The role focuses on producing Braille and tactile learning materials to give visually impaired pupils full access to the curriculum and inclusive participation in lessons.

You will work under supervision, gaining Braille qualifications if needed, and collaborate with the QTVI/QTMSI and school staff to meet individual pupil needs.

Qualifications

• Braille qualification required; if not held, post starts at Level 3 until the qualification is achieved within two years.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate Braille and tactile learning materials for visually impaired pupils.
• Provide 1:1 support to pupils and assist in lessons; support teachers and specialists.
