Job summary

YO IT Consulting is seeking a Biology Quality Assurance Lead for a remote, hourly contractor role. You will oversee quality across biology AI training projects, review AI-generated biology content, and provide precise written feedback to trainers and QAs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Biology or closely related field.
• Strong English language skills to follow guidelines and provide feedback.
• 3+ years in biology research, lab work, teaching, scientific writing, or QA workflows.
• Solid understanding of core biology topics such as cell biology, genetics, biochemistry, and immunology.
• Ability to evaluate content against rubrics and identify issues like incorrect terminology or unsafe recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Quality monitoring: spot-check biology items and provide feedback to trainers/QAs.
• Scientific review: evaluate AI-generated explanations for correctness and clarity.
• Trainer/QA communication: update on Discord about guidelines and updates.
• Question handling: respond clearly to questions on biology reasoning and terminology.
• Trainer/QA activation: DM inactive contributors and track availability.
• Documentation: create and maintain biology project docs and style guides.
• Onboarding/training: run sessions explaining expectations and rubrics.
• Quality alignment: ensure consistent application of biology guidelines across projects.
• Risk and safety review: flag unsafe or misleading biology content.
• Process improvement: identify gaps and propose scalable QA processes.
