Job summary

DS Smith plc is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager for the UK&I Automotive cluster. You will lead growth, build a robust prospect pipeline, and craft world-class pitches with cross-functional teams.

This role requires pro-active communication and senior-level stakeholder management across a remote UK footprint with travel for client engagements. The ideal candidate has a proven B2B sales track record in Automotive or packaging, strong financial acumen, and excellent English

Qualifications

• Must have B2B sales experience with a proven track record of winning new business.
• Deep knowledge of the Automotive ecosystem, logistics, and supply chains.
• Ability to navigate and influence multi-level, matrix organisations and cross-functional teams.
• Strong financial skills including budgeting, sales forecasting and target delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of market segment strategies for UK&I Automotive to secure growth.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified accounts with a hunter approach.
• Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, CX and Design to craft pitches and account playbooks.
• Act as senior contact for target clients; run stakeholder workshops and deliver insights.
• Coordinate tender responses and oversee post-award handovers to account teams.
• Own performance metrics, forecasting, budgeting and market-trends tracking.
