Job summary

Herefordshire Council is seeking an Assistant Educational Psychologist to join the Herefordshire Educational Psychology Service. The role involves supporting assessment, monitoring and interventions for children with SEN under supervision, in term-time hours and a fixed-term contract.

The successful candidate will have a good honours degree in psychology, relevant experience, and strong communication skills, with capability to work autonomously and remotely when needed.

Qualifications

• A good honours degree in psychology and up-to-date knowledge of child development.
• Experience applying psychology in educational or community settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work remotely and autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Contribute positively to service delivery under supervision of an EP.
• Support statutory and early-intervention educational psychology services in Herefordshire schools.
• Develop and apply assessment, monitoring and tracking of children and young people with SEN.
• Provide advice and interventions in schools as directed by the supervising EP.
• Contribute to service development and training for schools.
