Job summary

Trial Balance Consulting is seeking a Temporary Finance Assistant (Accounts Payable) in Plymouth for a short-term assignment of approximately 4–6 weeks. The role requires hands-on AP work, VAT awareness and liaison with suppliers and school admin teams.

The ideal candidate will have strong AP fundamentals, the ability to guide others on best practice, and thrive in a fast-paced environment within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in end-to-end AP processing.
• Strong knowledge of VAT treatment and PO processes.
• Confident communicating with suppliers and internal teams.
• Experience in school or trust environment desirable but not essential.
• Ability to work at pace in a short-term assignment.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end Accounts Payable invoice processing.
• Monitoring the finance inbox, prioritising workload effectively.
• Liaising with suppliers to resolve queries.
• Supporting PO raising and Goods receipting (GRNs) with school admin teams.
• Ensuring accuracy of invoices with correct PO information and VAT coding.
