Job summary

Norfolk County Council's Children's Services is hiring a Schools' Alternative Provision Placement Officer to oversee placements within the Norfolk Alternative Provision Strategy, supporting reintegration planning for pupils transitioning between mainstream and alternative education settings.

The post requires experience with vulnerable children, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate with parents, schools and professionals.

Qualifications

• Experience with vulnerable children in education
• Ability to work with parents, Headteachers and professionals
• Driving licence and car essential due to travel

Responsibilities

• Support placements within the Norfolk Alternative Provision Strategy (Tier 1 & 2)
• Coordinate transition and reintegration planning when mainstream is appropriate
• Work in partnership with Local Authority staff to ensure timely and smooth placements
