About The Opportunity

• Outlier is looking for talented writers with fluency in English to help train generative artificial intelligence models.
• This reading and writing-intensive freelance opportunity is remote with flexible hours, allowing you to work whenever it suits you.

You may contribute your expertise by…

• Reading English text to rank responses produced by an AI model.
• Writing and rewriting prompts and responses, which may involve research and fact-checking.
• Assessing the factuality and relevance of AI-generated text.

Examples of Desirable Expertise

• Experience as a professional writer or editor.
• Currently enrolled in or completed an associate degree or higher in a writing-related discipline at an accredited institution.
• Strong writing style, exceptional English spelling and grammar, and good logic and reasoning skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to clearly explain the strengths and weaknesses of a text.

Payment

• Pay rates for core project work by English writing experts in the US range from $15 to $35 USD per hour.
• In the UK, estimated rates are up to £11 to £27 GBP per hour.
• Rates vary based on expertise, skill assessment, location, project needs, and other factors. Higher rates may be offered to PhDs. For initial onboarding or overtime, lower rates may apply. Some projects include incentive payments. Please review payment terms for each project.
