Job summary

Monq is building the first AI platform designed for strategic procurement negotiation. We seek an Applied AI Engineer to shape autonomous negotiation agents handling high-value contracts, collaborating with our CTO to deliver production-grade AI for Fortune 500 procurement teams.

You will design multi-agent systems, deploy LLM workflows, and connect AI agents to major procurement tools (SAP, Oracle, Coupa, GEP) while ensuring security, compliance, and explainability across deployments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience in a startup
• Strong expertise in Python with focus on AI/ML applications
• Proven experience deploying LLM systems to production with robust evaluation, guard-railing, and monitoring
• Master's or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or related quantitative field
• Deep understanding of transformer architectures and large language model capabilities

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy agentic LLM workflows for contract analysis, vendor research, and strategic negotiation planning
• Create AI agents specialized in procurement areas: CapEx Equipment, Professional Services, Software & Technology, Logistics & Supply Chain
• Build multi-dimensional optimization systems considering price, terms, risk, timeline, and relationship factors
• Architect end-to-end negotiation workflows: contract intelligence, strategic reasoning, human orchestration, optimization
• Develop multi-agent collaboration frameworks for high-stakes enterprise negotiations
• Build enterprise-ready security, compliance, and audit capabilities for negotiations
