Job summary

Alignerr is seeking Software Engineers for a fully remote hourly contract in the Manchester region. You will build, review, and improve AI-generated code, helping AI systems think like developers.

This is hands-on engineering with flexible, asynchronous work and a commitment of 10–40 hours per week. You should be proficient in several languages (Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, Go, TypeScript) and have a solid grasp of data structures, algorithms, and design principles.

Qualifications

• Proficient in one or more programming languages (Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, Go, TypeScript).
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Able to read, write, and reason about code clearly and precisely.

Responsibilities

• Write, debug, and optimize code across multiple languages and domains.
• Review and evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, efficiency, readability, and best practices.
• Identify bugs, logic errors, security issues, and performance bottlenecks in AI outputs.
• Provide detailed feedback explaining why code works or not.
• Design coding prompts and edge-case scenarios to stress-test AI capabilities.
• Compare and rank AI-generated solutions by engineering quality.
• Work independently and asynchronously on your own schedule.
