Job summary

Hunter Philips Executive Search is seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to remotely support a portfolio of HV substation projects across the UK, with occasional travel to sites and client meetings.

The role leads commissioning strategies, ITP development and technical assurance across protection, SCADA, and interfaces, coordinating with designers, Project Managers and subcontractors to ensure energisation readiness and compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in 132-400kV substation commissioning or related engineering.
• Experience with HV substations and energisation.
• Strong ability to develop ITPs, plans and test docs.
• Stakeholder management and client-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage commissioning strategies and execution plans.
• Produce and review ITPs, commissioning plans and tests.
• Coordinate activities with designers, planners, subcontractors, DNOs and clients.
• Lead commissioning readiness reviews and energisation.
• Provide technical assurance and interface across construction, protection, SCADA.
• Support tender review of commissioning scope and resources.
