Hethersett Academy in Norfolk seeks an outstanding Teacher of Religious Studies on a maternity cover. The post is on a fixed term until 31 December 2027, with a full-time schedule of 32.5 hours per week and a January 2027 start.

The role offers the Main Pay Scale (MPS) to Upper Pay Scale (UPS) progression. The successful candidate will deliver a knowledge-rich curriculum, monitor pupil progress, and uphold safeguarding and health & safety standards while collaborating with the RE team and wider

Qualifications

• An appropriate degree and QTS are required.
• QTS status or on track to achieve QTS before start.
• Knowledge of Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, SEND and Child Protection.
• Ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with students and parents.
• Subject knowledge to degree level with varied teaching approaches.
• Experience teaching the Religious Studies subject in a secondary school (11-16).
• Experience supporting pupil personal development including form tutor duties.

Responsabilités

• Maintain professional conduct and engage in performance management and professional development.
• Collaborate with colleagues, external agencies and the Senior Leadership Team.
• Participate in meetings, quality assurance processes and after-hours events.
• Promote the Trust and Academy ethos, policies and Health & Safety standards.
• Ensure safeguarding, welfare, attendance, punctuality and behaviour monitoring.
• Serve as form tutor and deliver pastoral programmes.
• Teach Religious Studies, prepare pupils for examinations and provide interventions and revision lessons.
• Plan collaboratively, set homework, adapt for SEND/EAL and maintain high standards.
• Assess pupil progress, evaluate teaching methods and provide reports.
• Contribute to school life and enrichment activities.
