About The Role

In our young persons accommodation in Bristol, our Relief Youth Development Workers work as part of a larger Support team to provide support services to young people experiencing homelessness. The goal is to encourage them to dream big, aim high, and build the skills needed to live independently. As a Youth Development Worker, you will be at the heart of this journey, helping them turn aspirations into reality.

You will work on an adhoc basis covering sickness or annual leave to provide a safe, secure, and supportive service. Your responsibilities include supporting and monitoring the conduct, health and safety, and general welfare of residents with a flexible and sensitive approach.

This position is offered on a relief contract basis, working flexibly and when cover is required.

About The Candidate

To be considered for the role of Relief Support Worker, you will have:

• An ability to engage with a range of young people.
• A tenacity in seeking the best outcomes for young people.
• A good understanding of young people’s needs, safeguarding, and emotional and mental health issues.
• An understanding of support needs and support planning.
• An understanding of risk assessing and risk management.

Ideally, you will be:

• Innovative and creative in your ways of working.
• Resilient and flexible in dealing with others.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Confident in lone working and a good team player.
