Job summary

CrossReach is seeking a Relief Support Worker to provide compassionate support in diverse settings, helping individuals settle in, establish daily routines and achieve personal goals.

You will offer emotional and practical assistance, help with personal care and medication, and encourage independence within a safe, supportive environment. PVG scheme and SSSC registration are required, and UK work entitlement will be checked.

Qualifications

  • Calm, reliable, and ready to step into new settings.
  • Good communicator with active listening skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop in the role with support.
  • Experience with addiction, homelessness, mental health, or justice system is a plus, but not required.
  • Working towards or holding SVQ Level 2 in Social Care is expected.

Job description

Want a role where no two shifts are the same? As a Relief Support Worker, you’ll step into all kinds of situations – from supporting someone settling in for the first time to encouraging daily routines or celebrating personal goals. You’ll bring calm, confidence and care to people who need it most, right when they need it.

What sort of things will I do?

  • Pitch in with cleaning, meal prep or appointments when needed
  • Support recovery and life skills in a safe, stable environment
Who are we looking for?
  • Someone who’s calm, reliable and ready to step into new settings
  • A good communicator who knows when to listen
  • Ideally, you’ll have experience working with people affected by addiction, homelessness, mental health issues, or involvement with the justice system. However, we will support the right person to learn and develop in the role.
  • You’ll also need (or be working towards) an SVQ Level 2 in Social Care
