Job summary

Wilson James is recruiting a Relief Security Officer in Aberdeen to cover core team absences and holidays, ensuring safety for staff, visitors and assets. You will patrol, monitor access points and CCTV, respond to alarms, and complete incident reports.

The role requires a DS SIA Licence, strong observational and communication skills, and flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays. Join a leading security provider with over 30 years’ experience and a diverse client base.

Qualifications

• Hold a current DS SIA Licence.
• Ability to travel across Aberdeen and surrounding areas to cover various sites.
• Proven experience in a security role or a similar position.
• Strong observational skills with the ability to identify and respond to security threats.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, visitors, and authorities.
• Ability to remain calm and act decisively in high-pressure situations.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet staff and visitors, creating a safe, professional atmosphere.
• Conduct regular patrols and monitor premises to prevent unauthorised access, theft, or vandalism.
• Monitor access points, CCTV, and security procedures.
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents, taking appropriate action.
• Complete detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, and security concerns.
• Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations and first aid support if required.
• Adapt to different client sites – no two days are the same.
• Respond calmly and confidently to incidents or concerns.
• Work as part of a diverse, supportive team.
