Job summary

Securitas is seeking a Relief Security Officer for Portsmouth Dockyard with occasional cover at Broad Oak. The role involves patrols, access control, CCTV monitoring and incident response. You must be physically fit, hold a valid SIA licence, and be able to obtain SC clearance.

The position offers full training, a 42‑hour week, and overtime opportunities. Applicants should be British nationals or have a British passport for at least 5 years and have a 5‑year work history.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid SIA licence.
• Must be a British national by birth or have held a British passport for at least 5 years.
• Must have a 5-year checkable work history.
• Must be able to obtain SC clearance.
• Must be physically fit due to walking throughout shifts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols and monitor security across Portsmouth site.
• Manage entry points, check IDs, issue visitor passes and enforce procedures.
• Monitor CCTV, identify suspicious activity, and respond to incidents.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and incident activations.
• Maintain detailed incident records and adhere to health and safety procedures.
• Inspect security equipment to ensure functionality.
• Provide high-quality customer service while following security protocols.
