Job summary

Corps Security is seeking a highly skilled SIA Licensed Relief Security Officer to cover multiple client premises in Coventry. You will support holiday and sickness cover, with potential for a fixed shift pattern.

The role requires flexibility across days, nights, and weekends and a proactive approach to customer service and security. We value internal development and provide training; successful candidates may be contacted for permanent vacancies.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
• A valid SIA Front‑Line License – essential.
• A full UK Manual Driving License – essential.
• Confidence and ability to establish and maintain good working relationships at all levels.
• Ability to work to deadlines, multitask and work under pressure.
• Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall surveillance of the site, conducting regular patrols and recording these as per Corps and customer requirements.
• Ensure all visitors and contractors to the site are correctly briefed, sign in/out.
• Record entry and exit of deliveries, processing paperwork per site procedures.
• Set and unset primary and secondary alarm systems for out‑of‑hours security.
• Complete documents such as daily occurrence log and shift handover.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a highly skilled SIA Licensed Relief Security Officer in Coventry to be trained and required to work at several of our client’s premises to assist us with holiday and sickness cover, with a view to being allocated a fixed shift pattern when opportunities arise. You will work various hours per week and be flexible to cover days, nights and weekends. As part of our company philosophy, we believe in investing time and resources into our colleagues. What you will need

• Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
• A valid SIA Front‑Line License – essential.
• A full UK Manual Driving License – essential.
• Confidence and ability to establish and maintain good and effective working relationships at all levels.
• Ability to work to deadlines, multitask and work under pressure.
• Excellent IT skills including Microsoft software packages (e.g., Excel).
• Able to achieve vetting to BS7858 Standards.

What you are going to do

• Maintain overall surveillance of the site, conducting regular patrols and recording these as per Corps and customer requirements.
• Ensure all visitors and contractors to the site are correctly briefed, sign in and out.
• Record the entry and exit of delivery whilst on site, including processing of paperwork in line with site quality procedures.
• Ensure patrols are carried out to the correct standards.
• Set and unset primary and secondary alarm security systems for out‑of‑hours security provision if applicable.
• Comply with site waste management procedures.
• Complete documents as required including daily occurrence log, shift handover, incident/accident records and any site‑specific reports.
• Familiarise yourself with assignment instructions, risk assessments, and other quality & safety documents; advise Corps duty manager and/or client personnel on any changes or recommendations to improve.
• Maintain your own training records via Corps Colleague Portal such that your skills remain up to date, in particular your first aid and fire marshal training is in accordance with legislative guidelines.
• Continuously apply your SIA skills, maintaining a high level of professionalism; your SIA licence must always be displayed.
• Perform ad hoc duties as directed.
