Job summary

Relief Security Officer at Securitas UK in the Southampton area requires holding a valid SIA licence and at least two years of security experience. You will safeguard sites, manage access, patrol, and respond to incidents while delivering excellent customer service and upholding the company values.

The role covers sites within Southampton, Portsmouth and Bournemouth, with a 40-hour work week and a pay rate of £15 per hour.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence.
• Minimum 2 years' security experience.
• UK National.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SC (Security Check) Clearance.
• Right to work in the UK with a 5-year checkable employment/history record.
• Must have resided in the UK for the past 5 years (site requirement).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Professional, reliable, and able to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Control site access and monitor CCTV, alarms, and security systems.
• Conduct regular patrols to protect people, property, and assets.
• Manage visitors, contractors, and vehicle access.
• Respond to incidents, emergencies, and alarm activations.
• Report hazards, accidents, and security concerns promptly.
• Prevent theft, damage, and unauthorised access.
• Complete accurate reports and maintain security records.
• Deliver excellent customer service and support site safety.
• Ensure compliance with all site procedures, health & safety requirements, and Securitas standards.
• Liaise with the Security Operations Centre (SOC) and emergency services when required.
• Carry out searches, inspections, and other security duties as directed.
• Promote Securitas' core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness at all times.

As a Relief Security Officer, you will provide professional security services across a range of sites within a designated geographical area. The Security Officer will be responsible for safeguarding customers, employees, property, and assets while ensuring all duties are carried out in accordance with Assignment Instructions and site-specific requirements. The Security Officer role requires delivering exceptional customer service and consistently demonstrating Securitas' core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness. A valid SIA licence must be held before commencing operational duties as a Security Officer.
