Job summary

Securitas is seeking a Relief Security Officer to provide a professional security presence across multiple sites in Berkshire and Surrey. You’ll protect people, property, and assets, perform patrols, respond to alarms, and ensure site procedures are followed.

You’ll be punctual, dependable, and adaptable to cover various shifts, with a valid SIA licence and UK driving licence. Training and development opportunities are available, along with benefits and discounts.

Responsibilities

• Provide a professional security presence as a Relief Security Officer across multiple customer sites.
• Protect people, property, and assets through regular patrols and security checks.
• Monitor and respond to alarms, CCTV activity, incidents, and emergencies.
• Control access to sites and ensure all visitors, contractors, and staff follow site procedures.
• Report incidents, suspicious activity, hazards, and security breaches accurately and promptly.
• Deliver excellent customer service and act as the first point of contact for visitors and site personnel.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.

To provide professional security services as a Relief Security Officer across a variety of sites within a designated geographical area, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to operational requirements. Protecting customers’ employees, property, and assets in accordance with relevant Assignment Instructions and site‑specific customer requirements. As a Relief Security Officer, delivering exceptional customer service while consistently demonstrating Securitas’ core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness. Supporting site operations by maintaining a visible and professional presence, responding effectively to security needs, and ensuring a safe and secure environment. Applicants for the Relief Security Officer role must hold a valid SIA licence before commencing operational shifts.

• Ensure compliance with all Assignment Instructions, company policies, and health & safety procedures.
• Support the prevention of loss, damage, theft, and vandalism across assigned locations.

• Remain flexible and adaptable to cover a variety of sites and shifts as a Relief Security Officer.
• Maintain high standards of professionalism, appearance, and conduct expected of a Relief Security Officer.
• Hold and maintain a valid SIA licence as a requirement of the role.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

• Must have access to a reliable vehicle and be able to travel independently to all assigned locations.
• Ability to work independently and provide security cover at short notice across multiple sites.
• Hold a valid SIA Licence. Full right to work in the UK.
• Possess a full, valid UK driving licence.
• Demonstrate a stable employment history or provide satisfactory explanations for any gaps in employment, self‑employment, or education.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• High standards of integrity, professionalism, and reliability.
• Commitment to upholding Securitas' core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Punctual, dependable, and well organised.
• Flexible and willing to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Desirable Requirements

• Previous experience within the security industry, ideally in a Security Officer or Relief Security Officer role.
• Current First Aid qualification.
• Experience working across multiple sites as a Relief Security Officer would be advantageous.
