Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services is seeking a Relief Security Officer for the East Midlands (Burton & Derby areas) on-site at various client locations. The role requires a Full UK Driving Licence and your own vehicle, with shifts across days, nights and weekends to cover holidays and short-notice callouts.

You’ll support clients, protect people and assets, and adapt to different environments while following site policies and maintaining industry standards.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required.
• Own vehicle required.
• Valid SIA licence (SC clearance a bonus).

What You’ll Do

As a Relief Security Officer, you will be the reassuring presence that keeps people, property and assets safe. You will adapt quickly to new environments and deliver high‑quality service wherever you’re needed.

Operational Excellence

• Follow all site policies and Assignment Instructions (AI's)
• Adjust to changing site needs and suggest ways to improve service
• Always work within industry guidelines, displaying correct licences

Training & Development

• Complete mandatory training to keep your skills sharp
• Embrace additional learning opportunities to advance your career
• Make use of technology to stay up to date on processes
• Renew your SIA licence 16 weeks before expiry

Security & Safety

• Spot and report Health & Safety risks immediately
• Stay alert to suspicious behaviour or security threats
• Log incidents accurately and follow the correct reporting procedures
• Make required check calls on time
• Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, emergency services and the Mitie Communications Centre
