Join us as a Relief Retail Security Officer at Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services

We are looking for a dedicated Security Officer to join our team at the B&Q Milton Keynes Store (MK13 8PU). This is a relief role offering 27 hours per week with day shifts only, between 8am and 8pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sundays.

Role Details

• Pay: £12.81 per hour
• Location: B&Q Milton Keynes Store (MK13 8PU)
• Shifts: Day shifts only, up to 9 hours a day

Responsibilities

• Act as a visual deterrent on the shop floor
• Safely detain offenders following H&S training
• Utilize store security systems, including CCTV and EAS gates
• Collaborate with covert security operatives
• Investigate losses and support inquiries about known offenders
• Complete incident reports and documentation accurately
• Report crime incidents using a company tablet
• Conduct routine patrols to ensure safety
• Record patrols in daily activity sheets
• Provide security updates during store briefings
• Conduct shift handovers for service continuity
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for all

Qualifications

• Door Supervision or Security Guarding License
• Five-year checkable employment history or evidence of unemployment, self-employment, or education periods

Desirable Experience

• Previous retail security experience
