Job summary

BID Services Company is seeking a Relief Residential Support Worker to join the team at Chesterberry Residential Care Home in Erdington, Birmingham. You will work with Deaf residents who may have additional sensory impairments or learning disabilities, assisting with daily living and promoting independence.

The role requires experience in personal care and a willingness to develop BSL skills toward Level 2, with a service operating 24/7. This is a relief position within a dedicated care team.

Qualifications

• Experience in providing personal care, preferably in a care home setting with sensory impairment.
• BSL level 1 to work toward level 2 or equivalent.
• Commitment to learning BSL and supporting Deaf residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to residents.
• Administer medication as directed and carry out domestic tasks.
• Support residents to be as independent as possible within a 24/7 residential setting.

Are you an experienced care worker, who has a passion supporting individuals with sensory impairments and learning disabilities, and either has BSL skills or will commit to learning BSL?

We have an opportunity for a Relief Residential Support Worker to join our team in Chesterberry Residential Care home in Erdington, Birmingham to provide support and guidance in day-to-day life to Deaf people who may have other sensory impairments and learning disabilities, enabling residents to be as independent as they possibly can.

You will work as part of a dedicated team within a residential care home setting, assisting residents by providing personal care and support, administering medication and carrying out domestic tasks for the wellbeing of our residents.

This service operates 24 hours and 7 days a week.

• Experience of providing personal care, having preferably worked with residents in a care home setting who have sensory impairment
• Ideally have British Sign Language (BSL) level 1 working towards BSL level 2
• Either hold or working towards a Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care
